This Portuguese customer is a distributor planning to purchase a 3 tons spindelkran for resale in their local market. Previously, the customer specialized in machine tool wholesale, and had experience supplying industrial equipment to manufacturing clients. They were already familiar with spider cranes, having sold and used well-known Japanese and Italian brands, which meant their expectations regarding product quality and performance were very high.

After understanding their business model and target market, we provided a detailed quotation based on CIF terms, including technical specifications, lifting charts, configuration details, and estimated delivery time. Because the customer was highly quality-conscious and accustomed to premium European and Japanese products, they were initially hesitant about switching suppliers.

To support their evaluation, we provided comprehensive documentation, including CE certificates, component brand lists, load test reports, and European export cases. Despite this, the customer still felt the price was slightly high. To demonstrate sincerity and long-term partnership potential, we offered an additional 2% discount. Although the customer remained cautious, continued communication played a key role.

In the following weeks, we shared numerous successful export cases, especially projects delivered to European countries, along with customer feedback and operation videos. Gradually, the customer gained confidence in our manufacturing standards and quality control system. Eventually, they accepted the offer and confirmed the order.

This project reflects our ability to win over experienced distributors through transparency, proven performance, and consistent communication.

Differences Between Spider Cranes and Conventional Cranes

Elektriska spindelkranar differ significantly from conventional cranes in structure, application, flexibility, and operating environment. Understanding these differences helps distributors and end users select the right lifting solution.

♦Size and Accessibility: Electric spider cranes are compact and lightweight. They can pass through narrow doorways, elevators, and confined indoor spaces. Conventional cranes—such as truck cranes or large mobile cranes—require much larger working areas and cannot access restricted environments easily.

♦Outrigger Design: Elektriska spindelkranar feature adjustable multi-angle outriggers that resemble spider legs, allowing stable operation on uneven or sloped surfaces. Traditional cranes rely on larger, fixed outriggers and require more open, level ground.

♦Application Environment: Mobile spider cranes are ideal for indoor installations, rooftop work, glass curtain wall installation, equipment positioning, and tight urban construction sites. Conventional cranes are better suited for open construction sites and heavy outdoor lifting tasks.

♦Transportation and Setup: Mobila spindelkranar are easy to transport via small trucks or trailers and can be set up quickly. Large cranes require complex logistics, transportation permits, and longer setup times.

♦Precision and Control: Mobile spider cranes typically use remote control systems, allowing operators to stand at a safe distance and achieve precise positioning. Traditional cranes may use cabin control systems and are less suitable for ultra-precise indoor lifting.

♦Power Options: Many spider cranes offer dual power systems (diesel and electric), enabling both indoor and outdoor operation. Conventional cranes are generally diesel-powered and less suitable for indoor environments.

♦Cost Efficiency: For small to medium lifting tasks in restricted areas, spider cranes are often more economical due to lower transportation, labor, and site preparation costs.

♦Lifting Capacity Range: While conventional cranes dominate extremely heavy lifting operations, spider cranes provide strong lifting capacity relative to their compact size, typically ranging from 1 ton to 12 tons.

In summary, spindelkranar are designed for flexibility, precision, and confined-space performance, while conventional cranes excel in large-scale, high-capacity outdoor lifting. Each has its advantages, but for specialized and restricted environments, spider cranes offer a unique and highly competitive solution.
